Stantec Promotes Whitaker to Principal in Washington, DC and Mid-Atlantic Regions
Whitaker has more than 30 years of experience in healthcare design, with a focus on particle therapy centers, academic medical centers, ambulatory care and cancer/oncology centers. His project experience spans the globe, from across the United States to China.
During his time at Stantec he has provided project leadership as part of the team’s Particle Therapy Center of Excellence, recognized as an expert in the design of advanced cancer and oncology services worldwide. Whitaker will leverage his specialized healthcare expertise to bolster the team’s expansion of the health sector across the region.

Recent healthcare projects led out of the firm’s D.C. office include work for Inova, MedStar, Johns Hopkins and Kaiser Permanente. Particle therapy projects include the New York Proton Center in New York, New York; Emory Proton Treatment Center in Atlanta, Georgia; and the Hefei Heavy Ion Medical Center in Hefei City, China.
