Team Shawmut — which includes CEO Les Hiscoe, Shawmut employees, friends, and patients — has consistently raised more than $100,000 per year to support Sweeney’s efforts, enabling him and his team to create a unique database of cancer specimens, discover key causes of incurable cancer, and test a new drug designed to make standard therapies more effective.
“The PMC is a long-standing tradition for Shawmut, and each year I continue to be inspired by the unwavering support from fellow employees, partners, family, and friends who raise funds for life-saving cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute,” Hiscoe said. “Team Shawmut’s donations through PMC are empowering top researchers and aiding trailblazing breakthroughs, but we’re also creating a community that provides support for those affected by cancer — and building strong communities remains a fundamental value of who we are.”
