Pivoting to shifting market dynamics due to COVID-19, Shawmut is making investments in new employees to help reach their strategic goals, further their growth objectives, and continue to enhance client service offerings. Effective immediately, Michael Schumacher will serve as Senior Director of the Commercial Developer Division in New England.
“At Shawmut, the environment we find ourselves operating in doesn’t change our core mission to deliver exceptional client service with best-in-class industry expertise,” said Les Hiscoe, CEO of Shawmut. “Responding to one of the more challenging times our industry has faced, we are pleased to create this new position, especially because the situation that many of our clients are facing is more complex than it was even six months ago. Adding new world-class talent will put us in a position to be successful for the second half of the year and beyond.”
Schumacher comes with 30 years of experience supporting high-profile commercial projects and billion-dollar real estate investments, specializing in large-scale commercial projects and bringing construction expertise to his new role at Shawmut. Schumacher will be tasked to grow Shawmut’s commercial sector and bring depth of knowledge and continuity to Shawmut’s clients and partners. Prior to joining Shawmut, Schumacher most recently managed the $950-million EchelonSeaport for Cottonwood Group. He will build off Shawmut’s commercial project portfolio, including Point225, Providence, Cambridge Crossing, and 101 South at Boynton Yards.
