The Family Business Awards program was created as a way to celebrate and recognize the successes of New England’s many family-owned businesses. From those just starting out to those who have farmed the same land for more than 100 years, the awards recognize the determination necessary to launch and build a business with family and to keep that legacy going through subsequent generations. The finalists represent businesses large and small, from first generation with under $1 million in sales to those with a national presence and $300 million in revenue.
“Our family has been in the construction business since 1880,” said Jay Connolly, Vice President at Connolly Brothers. “We are one of the few companies to successfully make it to five generations of family leadership, and all of us are just as involved in client projects as the original founders were when they started the business. We take great pride in our work, and to be recognized as a leader in family business is extremely gratifying and rewarding.”
