DENVER, CO — Burns & McDonnell, a 100 percent employee-owned engineering, architecture, and construction firm, announces the promotions of Jason Mayyak and Janson Ferrera to new leadership roles in the Mountain Region.
“We look forward to leveraging the knowledge and leadership acumen of these admirable leaders,” said Dan Korinek, Senior Vice President and General Manager for the Mountain Region. “Both bring a wealth of technical experience and a client-first mentality. Their innovative approaches drive progress, and I am confident their leadership will foster continued growth for our clients and team.”
Mayyak has been promoted to Operations Director for the Mountain Region, supporting the firm’s offices in Colorado and the Northwest. He will support operations for a nearly 500-person team delivering engineering and construction solutions across industries such as aviation, environmental, manufacturing, industrial, power, telecommunications, and water.
Earlier this year, Mayyak was promoted to Vice President for Burns & McDonnell. He previously served as a Regional Manager for the Transmission & Distribution Group, leading power infrastructure projects for communities. Under his leadership, the team more than tripled in size to more than 200 employee-owners.
“It is a privilege to contribute to the development of our community’s infrastructure and support our employee-owners,” Mayyak said. “From the lights that illuminate our homes to the water we drink, our team will continue to provide innovative and world-class solutions that are both forward-thinking and transformative.”

He previously served as the regional group’s Projects Director, leading the oversight of large-scale, engineer-procure-construct projects.
“We have an exceptional team, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to lead them as our nation undergoes a shift in power infrastructure,” Ferrera said. “The clients and projects we support play a pivotal role in our everyday lives, making this an exciting time to contribute to the energy transformation.”
Both Mayyak and Ferrera hold a master’s and bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Colorado School of Mines.
