DENVER, CO — Jeffrey Clevenger, PE, joins HNTB Corporation as a Senior Project Director in the firm’s Denver, Colorado, office. With expertise in program management and alternative project delivery methods, Clevenger brings 35 years of experience in complex, multi-billion-dollar highway, transit, and water infrastructure programs to HNTB.
“Jeff combines deep technical expertise with a strategic understanding of how to deliver complex infrastructure programs in ways that truly serve our clients’ goals,” said Del Walker, Denver Office Leader and Vice President at HNTB. “His decades of locally focused and national experience across multiple market sectors, along with his knowledge of design-build, CM/GC, and P3, make him a trusted advisor to project owners navigating capital programs with ambitious schedules, budgets, and stakeholder demands.”
That combination of leadership and technical insight has shaped Clevenger’s work on infrastructure programs nationwide. In the Midwest, he most recently served as Co-Project Principal for the Brent Spence Bridge Replacement Project, a bistate gateway reconstruction connecting Ohio and Kentucky. Before that, he was the Project Principal for the Union Pacific Railroad Bridge Replacement in Iowa.
In Colorado, Clevenger’s home state, he has led several major multimodal transportation efforts. He served as Project Principal for the Colorado Department of Transportation’s (CDOT) Region 1 U.S. 36 Managed Lanes, Phases 1 and 2; Deputy Corridor and Design Manager for the Regional Transportation District’s (RTD) East Corridor, part of Denver’s Eagle P3 Commuter Rail Program; and Project and Segment Manager for the T-REX project — a joint CDOT and RTD highway and light rail expansion.
Leveraging his expertise in alternative delivery, he also served as the North Segment Manager for CDOT and Denver RTD’s Southeast Corridor Design-Build request for proposal. Additionally, Clevenger served as Project Director for the City of Aurora’s Prairie Waters Project, a large-scale water collection, transmission, and purification program supporting the Colorado region’s long-term sustainability.
