Big-D began to prepare the site in August and will continue for three months, with actual building construction starting in October of this year. The site will be closed to the public for the next two years. Construction is scheduled for completion in February 2023.
Big-D obtained the winning construction contract this June through the state process outbidding four other companies. Big-D Construction has worked with SLCC on other projects, including the Center for Arts and Media at South City Campus and the Westpointe Workforce Training & Education Center at Westpointe Campus.
“Education is a fundamental key to our communities’ success,” said Rob Moore, CEO of Big-D Construction. “Our communities are seeing so much growth, and we are glad to be part of bringing easier access to college courses for those seeking higher education."
