AUSTIN, TX — Robert Goode, P.E., joins planning, engineering, and program management firm Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. (LAN) as Vice President and Senior Program Manager. He will be responsible for growing LAN’s business in Austin and central Texas, enhancing the firm’s profile with municipal and local agencies in the region, and serving as an advisor for municipal transportation projects nationwide.

Goode is a veteran executive with 37 years of city, county, and private sector experience. He has directed transportation and infrastructure planning departments at large entities such as the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority (CTRMA), City of Austin, City of Fort Worth, Travis County, and City of Olympia, Washington. In addition, he has led public works divisions at consulting engineering firms.

“Robert knows how to deliver complex infrastructure programs from inception to completion,” said Steve Gilbreath, P.E., Vice President and Director of the firm’s infrastructure business group. “With his addition, we are looking forward to further improving our client services in the central Texas region.”

Previously, Goode served as the Deputy Executive Director for CTRMA where he managed programs to improve the transportation system in Williamson and Travis counties. Prior to that, he served the City of Austin for 10 years as an Assistant City Manager overseeing 2,500 employees in its infrastructure services group. Goode managed the city’s water utility, transportation, public works, solid waste, and mobility corridor implementation departments. In addition, he oversaw the city’s aviation, code compliance, and capital planning departments, and served as Interim General Manager for its energy department.

During Goode’s career, he has developed and implemented numerous capital improvement programs ranging from $50 million to $1 billion. These include developing the City of Austin’s mobility bond programs, developing the City of Fort Worth’s first mobility and air quality master plan, and leading Travis County’s $184-million capital improvement bond program in 2000.
