RAPID CITY, SD — 1898 & Co., part of Burns & McDonnell, announces the addition of Matt Seidl as the Offering Director of Spatial Platform Modernization Services within the technology consulting department. In this role, Seidl will be responsible for the strategy, development, and go-to-market positioning of spatial platform modernization services, with a primary focus on serving utility clients.
Seidl brings more than 20 years of experience in utility-specific technology solutions, data, analytics, and enterprise project management. Most recently, he worked at Black Hills Energy, where he led teams responsible for modernizing grid technology through the implementation of information technology and geographic information system (GIS) solutions. Under his leadership, Seidl’s gas GIS team was recognized for best practices in GIS by the American Gas Association in 2023.

Based in Rapid City, South Dakota, Seidl holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in agricultural engineering from Iowa State University and is a licensed Professional Engineer in civil engineering in Nevada.
