HURON, SD — Kraus-Anderson has begun a $13 million expansion at Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) in Huron, South Dakota.
Designed by Wold HFR Design, the 7,500-square-foot addition will feature four new operating rooms, staff lockers, and a lounge. The project also includes an 11,581-square-foot renovation of the existing operating room suite, endoscopy rooms, and pre- and post-operating rooms; and a new 19,081-square-foot sterile processing area and support spaces.
At a groundbreaking event, Dr. Kevin Hofer, an HRMC Orthopedic Surgeon, said the new surgical suites will be equipped with advanced tools and technologies that support precision and efficiency, along with space and tech to continue to grow and evolve.
“The expansion represents more than an infrastructure improvement; it’s a leap forward, and how we care for our friends and neighbors,” he said.
“We see this as an opportunity to help our community and help each other with our health care needs,” said Erick Laron, HRMC’s President and CEO.
