BLOOMINGTON, MN — Burns & McDonnell, a 100 percent employee-owned engineering, architecture, construction, and consulting firm, celebrates the opening of a new, expanded office in Bloomington, Minnesota.
Burns & McDonnell leadership, along with Bloomington Mayor Tim Busse and representatives from the Minnesota and Minneapolis Chamber of Commerce, participated in a ribbon-cutting to commemorate the new office. Spanning approximately 65,000 square feet, the office can accommodate over 400 employees, emphasizing the firm’s investment to grow in the Upper Midwest region.
“Our new office in Bloomington reflects the remarkable growth and strong partnerships we’ve built in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area since opening our first office in 2007,” said Gene Sieve, Burns & McDonnell's Senior Vice President and General Manager, Upper Midwest Region. “We’re proud to be part of this vibrant community and to continue delivering innovative solutions that strengthen the region’s critical infrastructure.”
Burns & McDonnell has more than 12,000 employee-owners across 75 locations worldwide. In Minnesota, the firm’s 300-plus employee-owners support clients in industries including electrical transmission and distribution, construction, environmental services, manufacturing, renewable power generation, defense, and aviation.

The Bloomington office opening builds on the firm’s history of designing and delivering projects that support critical infrastructure needs across Minnesota and throughout the Upper Midwest region. Since 2020, Burns & McDonnell has increased its employee-owner presence in the state by 175 percent.
