BLOOMINGTON, MN — Burns & McDonnell, a 100 percent employee-owned engineering, architecture, and construction firm, announces that Joe Bauer will lead the Construction Group in the Upper Midwest Region. Bauer will be responsible for the strategic development and overall leadership of the firm’s construction business across the Upper Midwest in multiple market sectors, including power transmission & distribution, life sciences, and food and beverage manufacturing.

Bauer started his career with Burns & McDonnell in 2014 in Chicago and has led cross-functional teams in the turnkey execution of design-build projects in various industries throughout the region. In 2021, he transferred to the Minneapolis-St. Paul office and started up the local Construction Group to support Upper Midwest clients, and has since hired 22 employee-owners.
