The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) is on a cross-country mission to celebrate the unsung heroes of American manufacturing. Their Manufacturing Express bus tour, a 15,000-mile journey spanning 22 states and 85 communities, made a recent stop at Trimble in Dayton, Ohio, highlighting the vital role of the industry.
While expressing gratitude to the 2.3 million men and women in the equipment manufacturing industry is a key goal, the tour aims to achieve much more. Kip Eideberg, AEM's Senior Vice President, emphasized the tour's three-pronged approach:
- Thank You - Acknowledging the hard work and dedication of the industry's workforce, particularly the 153,000 employed in Ohio.
- Educate - Raising awareness about the industry's significant impact on local and national economies, even showcasing how everyday activities rely on the equipment they build.
- Advocate - Promoting pro-manufacturing policies through the "I Make America" campaign, urging elected officials to support initiatives like infrastructure investment, broadband deployment, and workforce training.
Trimble, a provider of technology solutions for construction and other industries, hosted the AEM tour.
Cyndee Hoagland, Trimble's Senior Vice President, spoke about the company's commitment to innovation and its employees' dedication.
