LOUISVILLE, KY — Indianapolis-based Schmidt Associates names Ben Simmons, AIA, LEED AP, to the position of Associate, Client Liaison for the Louisville, Kentucky, office. Simmons is a Registered Architect in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

A 2003 graduate of the University of Kentucky, Simmons has spent the last 16 years with EOP Architects as both an Associate and Principal. Career highlights include opening the EOP Louisville office where he focused on firm culture and staff development and organized multiple community events.

In 2010, Simmons became a LEED-Accredited architect. Within the community, Simmons has held many volunteer positions including:

• Director of Community Outreach for the American Institute of Architect’s (AIA) Eastern Kentucky Chapter, 2013-2015
• Member of the Focus Louisville 2015 class
• Committee member for the Nativity Academy Facilities
• Fundraising committee member for the Kentucky College of Art + Design
• Board member for AIA Central Kentucky
• Vice President and President for the Association for Learning Environments’ Kentucky Chapter
