COLUMBUS, OH — Barton Malow Senior Project Manager Andrea Pruneau was recently awarded the Builders Exchange of Central Ohio’s (BX) Cornerstone Award at a ceremony held in Columbus, Ohio. This award honors an individual who exemplifies outstanding service and commitment to the local construction industry and community. Considered the highest accolade in the central Ohio construction industry, the Cornerstone Award has been presented annually since 1954, making Pruneau the 70th recipient and the third woman ever to receive this honor.
In her acceptance speech, Pruneau spoke about the impact women have in the construction industry and the importance of taking up space in this often overlooked but vital field. She is involved with The Ohio State University Construction Systems Management program and supports its Women Inspire Construction events.
Beyond her university involvement, Pruneau is engaged with other community-based organizations, including the Clintonville Area Commission Zoning and Variance Committee, International Facility Management Association, COGENCE Alliance, and Habitat for Humanity.
Pruneau joined BX in the early 1990s. During her tenure, she served on the Board of Directors, including a term as President in 2005. She was also a panelist for BX Young Professionals Group events and has been an active volunteer for the Student Outreach Program since its inception, supporting the next generation of construction professionals.
