Skanska, 3CDC Celebrate Topping Out of Findlay Community Hub in Over-the-Rhine Neighborhood

CINCINNATI, OH — Skanska, in partnership with Cincinnati Center City Development Corp. (3CDC) and the City of Cincinnati, Ohio, celebrated the topping out of the Findlay Community Hub, marking a major construction milestone for the project in Cincinnati’s Over-the-Rhine neighborhood.

Skanska serves as construction manager for the project, with with 3CDC as the developer working on behalf of the City of Cincinnati. Moody Nolan is leading the design in collaboration with Human Nature and Bayer Becker.

Located near Findlay Market, the new community and recreation center is being developed through extensive collaboration with neighborhood residents and civic and financial partners. Once complete, the center will provide recreational, wellness, and gathering space in the community while respecting the historic character of Over-the-Rhine. The 18-month, $47 million construction project is transforming the underutilized park into a new community center — a pivotal step toward neighborhood revitalization.

“Reaching the topping out milestone is an important moment for this project and for the community it will serve,” said Chris Hopper, Executive Vice President and General Manager for Skanska’s Ohio office. “This building reflects what’s possible when strong partners come together with a shared vision. We’re proud to work alongside 3CDC, the City of Cincinnati, and our trade partners to help bring a space to life that supports health, connection, and opportunity in Over-the-Rhine."

Throughout construction, Skanska has prioritized safety, quality, sustainability, and proactive community engagement. The team continues to coordinate with 3CDC and the city to minimize impacts during construction, maintain accessibility, and keep residents informed as work progresses.

Upon completion, the building will feature two levels of recreation and multi-purpose space totaling 60,000 square feet, an 8,400-square-foot early learning childcare center for children ages six weeks through preschool, and an outdoor space with a play area, seating, and grills. In addition to the childcare center, the first floor includes a gym, indoor pool, roller rink, locker rooms, multi-purpose rooms, and a child-watch area. Floor two will feature a walking and running track, a fitness area with cardio and stretching equipment, free weights, group exercise rooms, and a rooftop patio space.

This design plan is the result of extensive community engagement, which started in 2021 and is ongoing. To date, 3CDC and its partners have engaged nearly 900 community members and stakeholders across 113 events. Additionally, the team has conducted five community engagement surveys, which garnered 387 responses.

Construction of the Findlay Community Hub is anticipated to continue through late 2026. As work advances, Skanska and its partners will maintain ongoing communication with the community and celebrate additional milestones along the way.
