He will be based in HDR’s Charlotte, North Carolina, office, working closely with the architecture and federal programs in Atlanta, Tampa, Florida, and other East Coast offices.
Finfrock was S&T/Design Principal in HDR’s Bethesda, Maryland, and Alexandria, Virginia, offices from 2009 to 2014. He rejoins the firm after spending the last five years as the S&T Midwest Practice Leader at CannonDesign in Chicago.

Over his 35-plus year career, Finfrock has developed a portfolio of science and technology facilities. As a designer, he brings with him expertise in advanced research projects requiring high levels of design integration between planning, architecture, engineering, and innovative scientific applications. His experience includes high energy physics particle accelerators, cleanrooms, advanced imaging, and many associated interdisciplinary science facilities.

His clients include agencies and institutions, such as Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Argonne National Laboratory, Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, the Environmental Protection Agency, Johns Hopkins University, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
