Daniel brings with him 20 years of leadership experience and knowledge of the defense industry. He is a second-generation military servicemember and retired in 2017 as a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Coast Guard. During his military career he earned three Commendation Medals, two Achievement Medals, three Letters of Commendation and multiple team awards.
While stationed in Hawaii, Daniel was responsible for the budget and allocation of more than $80 million for Coast Guard operations, in addition to saving more than 40 lives and over $2.7 million in property. In his last assignment, he was the Chief of Enforcement for U.S. Coast Guard Sector San Francisco, and he oversaw patrol boats, Tier I Port Waterways and Coastal Security boat stations and boarding teams.
During Super Bowl 50 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, Daniel was responsible for security planning and execution, deploying and coordinating Coast Guard and partner agency resources to ensure the security of the Maritime Transportation System and the safety of more than 1 million commuters, boaters and spectators to the San Francisco Bay Area.
With full responsibility for the leadership and development of BlackStar West Coast operations, Daniel plays a key role in meeting the company's growth goals as well as building on the firm's reputation for service and delivery to BlackStar clients.
Daniels attended Hampton University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in business management in 2001. He also graduated with a Master of Business Administration from Hawaii Pacific University in 2007.
