PAPILLION, NE — Darland Construction recently completed the new Mid-States Utility Trailer Sales facility. This nearly 60,000-square-foot expansion is located just off Highway 50 and I-80 in Papillion, Nebraska, marking a significant addition for one of the largest semi-trailer dealers in the United States.
"The size and scope of this building was going to require a contractor with significant experience," Mid-States Utility Vice President Al Weber said. "After evaluating a number of different providers, our selection process ended with choosing Darland Construction."
The new location stands as a key regional hub designed to enhance Mid-States Utility's operational capabilities and customer service. The project features a trailer shop, a parts warehouse, a driver's lounge, and administrative offices. A notable aspect of the project includes over 11 acres of exterior paving, designed to accommodate the extensive inventory and traffic flow of large semi-trailers.
"Managing relationships through Darland with their Project Manager and Site Superintendent made certain interruptions and bumps in the road — which we knew would come — far less impactful," Weber said. "At every turn along the way, Darland's anticipation of planned reactions significantly minimized the impact."
Mid-States Utility Trailer Sales operates four locations across Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota, serving as a dealer of Utility, Demco, and Extreme semi-trailers, including reefers, dry vans, flatbeds, drop decks, and side dump trailers.
