SEATTLE, WA — Fred Young joins Parametrix as a Senior Planner based in Seattle, Washington. He has over 20 years of experience working on public projects that enhance the livability of communities.

Young comes to Parametrix from Alta Planning + Design where he recently served as Managing Director for Southeast Asia. Based in Vietnam for the past four years, his clients included Singapore Land Transport Authority, The World Bank, Asian Development Bank, and government agencies in Ho Chi Minh City, Kuala Lumpur, and Hong Kong.

Prior to his assignment in Asia, Young led Alta’s office in Seattle and worked throughout the Puget Sound region, the Midwest, Alaska, and western Canada. His work focuses on active transportation and spans a range of project types including city-wide planning, complete streets planning and design, access to transit, trails, wayfinding, bike share, and developing context-appropriate design guidelines.

Young returns to the Pacific Northwest, where he will support Parametrix’s Puget Sound Transportation team. "I look forward to connecting with clients and project partners to continue making walking and riding bicycles safe and convenient for people of all ages and abilities,” Young said.
