SEATTLE, WA — Founded in 2000 in Seattle, Washington, BNBuilders started with a simple idea: build in a way that brings people together, solves problems early, and delivers great results for complex projects. From the very beginning, the company aimed to set itself apart as a hands-on, highly technical builder.
Today, the company is 100 percent employee-owned and works across Washington, California, and Colorado, focusing on projects in health care, education, life sciences, tech, and entertainment, among others.

Some milestones from the past 25 years include:
- Sustainability leadership: BNBuilders was the first general contractor to sign The Climate Pledge, committing to cut carbon emissions in half by 2030 and reach net-zero operations by 2040. The company also signed the Contractor's Commitment and is Salmon-Safe accredited, ensuring its projects protect water quality and wildlife habitats.
- Excellence in safety: Safety has been a priority for the company, earning 24 safety awards, including first place in the 2024 Associated General Contractors National Construction Safety Excellence Awards in the 1 million to 2.5 million work hours category — the fourth time placing first in its category nationally. Programs like Total Worker Health, On the Spot Recognition, and annual Safety Summits help keep teams safe.
- Geographic expansion: From its Seattle headquarters, BNBuilders has opened offices in San Diego, San Francisco, Irvine, and Los Angeles, California, as well as in Denver, Colorado, growing its ability to serve clients throughout the West Coast and beyond.
- Employee ownership: BNBuilders became fully employee-owned in 2021.
- New headquarters: This year, BNBuilders moved into a revitalized historic building on Seattle's waterfront, a space designed to inspire collaboration and innovation.
