REDMOND, OR — Skanska announces that it has topped out the new St. Charles Cancer Center in Redmond, Oregon. This milestone marks the completion of the structural framework for the 53,000-square-foot facility, which will substantially expand access to cancer care services throughout Central Oregon. With both the steel and mass timber framework now complete, Skanska will move forward with the building enclosure, bringing Oregon one step closer to its first-ever modern mass timber medical facility.
Once complete, the new St. Charles Cancer Center will serve up to 300 patients per day, offering radiation oncology, chemotherapy infusion, surgical oncology, and expanded support services to meet the growing needs of the region. The center is nine times the size of the current facility in Redmond and also will include a 5,000-square-foot chemotherapy infusion site with mountain views, a linear accelerator for radiation therapy, and dedicated space for nutrition, massage, acupuncture, and other integrative care services.
“We are incredibly proud to reach this milestone in the construction of the St. Charles Cancer Center,” said Todd Predmore, Senior Vice President - Account Manager for Skanska USA Building in Oregon. “Topping out represents a major step toward making this vision a reality — one that will provide life-saving treatments and holistic support for patients across Central Oregon. Our partnership with St. Charles Health System reflects our deep commitment to building facilities that directly enhance community well-being.”
Construction on the St. Charles Cancer Center remains on track for completion in March 2026.
