BOX ELDER, MT — The Chippewa Cree Tribe of the Rocky Boy’s Reservation, in partnership with general contractor McGough Construction as well as JGA and Plan One/Architects, held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new 23,500-square-foot Tribal Administration Building. The new facility will serve as a hub for tribal government, community services, and administrative functions, designed with three distinct wings to enhance privacy and operational efficiency.
The project will be constructed by McGough and was designed by JGA and Plan One/Architects, with crucial input from tribal members and staff.
"Our investment in this new administration building is a testament to our commitment to the future of the Chippewa Cree people," said Harlan Baker, Chairman of the Chippewa Cree Tribal Headquarters. "It will provide a central place where tribal members can access community resources, celebrate culture, and receive support that strengthens families, fosters wellness, and ensures the spirit of care, community, and belonging remains strong for generations.”
Nate Wood of McGough Construction highlighted the collaborative nature of the project.
"We are honored to partner with the Chippewa Cree Tribe on this important project," he said. "Our team is committed to delivering a high-quality building that reflects the values and vision of the tribe. It will be a privilege to watch this vision come to life."
