During the 2019 fundraising campaign PCL and more than 80 percent of its employees participated and contributed a total donation of $700,866 to the nonprofit. Since 1998, PCL and its employees have contributed more than $18 million, enabling Mile High United Way to tackle the most complex challenges and improve thousands of lives each year.
This year’s campaign theme, United Roots, symbolized how PCL’s roots in Denver are intertwined with the local community as Denver represents PCL’s first office in the United States. The campaign included a silent auction and golf tournament, as well as participation from local partners and subtrades.
“Giving back to our community is a cornerstone of our organization,” said Deron Brown, President and COO of PCL’s U.S. operations. “As an employee-owned company, we believe that it’s a shared responsibility to give back to the communities where we live and work.”
The support provided by PCL Construction helps fund initiatives such as ensuring children enter school ready to succeed, that they are reading at grade-level by the end of third grade and that youth exiting the child welfare system are prepared for their future and entry into the workforce.
