DENVER, CO — PCL Construction, Inc. celebrated the groundbreaking of a $190 million contract to build the Westminster Boulevard Drinking Water Facility — a project that employs advanced treatment technology to provide clean water to residents.
The City of Westminster, Colorado, entrusted the PCL team to build the project’s most critical components. As the lead contractor, PCL will manage the construction of filtration and treatment technologies. The facility will feature advanced oxidation and filtration systems designed to improve taste and odor, while enhancing resiliency against fluctuations in incoming water quality.
Designed with long-term sustainability in mind, the project replaces aging infrastructure and will provide drinking water to nearly 33,000 homes and businesses. Once operational, the facility will have the capacity to treat 14.7 million gallons of water per day.
“PCL is proud to celebrate the opening of the Westminster Boulevard Drinking Water Facility with the City of Westminster. This is an essential project that secures safe, reliable drinking water for the community,” said Ankur Talwar, PCL’s West Region District Manager.
The groundbreaking ceremony brought together Westminster City Council members, build partners, local leaders, and community members to celebrate the future site.
