HNTB will perform program management and related activities that will support bus and rail transit related services included in UTA’s approximately $960-million Five-Year Capital Program (2021-2025). The term of HNTB’s agreement includes three years with two one-year options. The HNTB team includes 21 subconsultants, 37 local team members, and five Disadvantaged Business Enterprise/Small Business Enterprise firms.
“UTA’s Capital Program focuses on renewing existing bus and rail infrastructure and facilities, bringing them to a state of good repair, expanding existing services, and developing new services,” said Jason Bleyl, PE, HNTB Senior Project Manager.
HNTB will perform capital program development coordination and administration support; project management and administration services; planning, engagement, and outreach; grants management; and NEPA/environmental services. Other services will include pre-construction and construction support; project controls; systems and signal engineering oversight; quality assurance and consultant performance evaluation; and adjunct professional services as needed.
“Infrastructure improvements will be a major component of the services the HNTB team will provide to UTA and its many thousands of daily riders,” said Greg Thorpe, PE, HNTB Senior Project Manager and Client Service Leader. “Over the course of this important program, we expect to perform many key activities that will support the continuing improvements and expansion of UTA’s light rail, commuter rail, bus rapid transit, and bus services.”
