“AECOM’s significant experience with healthcare infrastructure and disaster recovery makes us ideally suited to address this historic public health and economic crisis,” said Steve Morriss, AECOM’s President of Design and Consulting Services Americas. “Our long-standing partnerships with government agencies like the USACE, FEMA, and state and local emergency management agencies have allowed us to rapidly mobilize to get these essential facilities functional as quickly and safely as possible.”
During national emergencies, the USACE is the U.S. federal government’s lead public works and engineering support agency. After AECOM was awarded the contract, within 24 hours, they provided a build-out team to assess existing conditions and perform reconnaissance.
“Our nation’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic requires the utmost teamwork, quality, and speed to deliver the right care at the points needed,” said Lieutenant General Todd T. Semonite, Commanding General of the USACE. “AECOM is doing just that. I was very impressed by their selfless teamwork with Corps of Engineers and the State of Colorado to deliver the alternate care facility at the Larimer Ranch.”
