Kraus-Anderson Begins NDSU’s New Bolley Agricultural Research Laboratory

FARGO, ND — The North Dakota office of Kraus-Anderson (KA) has begun construction on North Dakota State University's (NDSU) new Bolley Agricultural Research Laboratory, with a construction contract of $78 million, located on a greenfield site on the western edge of the university’s campus in Fargo, North Dakota. Named after an early NDSU agricultural research pioneer, Henry L. Bolley, the 170,700-square-foot building is one of the largest capital projects in the university’s history.

Dedicated spring wheat, durum, and winter wheat lab spaces will be a key feature in the building for North Dakota wheat producers. The research lab’s programs also include plant pathology, plant breeding, weed science, agronomy, soil science, and horticulture.

Designed by JLG Architects and Clark & Enerson, the facility includes three 10,000-square-foot green houses, horticulture and plant science labs, seed coolers and freezers, seed drying line, and seed cleaning, processing, and storage areas.

The project is expected to be completed in the fall of 2026.

Kraus-Anderson has partnered with NDSU on several notable projects, including the Nodak Insurance Football Performance Complex, Catherine Cater Hall, and Sugihara Hall. This fall, KA completed the Peltier Complex with a construction contract of $75 million and has been selected to manage the renovation and expansion at Challey School of Music.
