The Beech Grove Police Department’s (BGPD) new 4,400-square-foot facility serves not only BGPD officers but also provides a valuable training resource for outside agencies. The center boasts an array of features designed to equip officers with the skills they need to excel in various situations. The centerpiece is a full 25-yard indoor shooting range, offering a controlled environment for firearms training.
A key feature of the training center is its sophisticated lighting system. Designed to ensure the most realistic training scenarios, the range offers a variety of lighting options to allow officers to practice under conditions that mirror real-world situations, from low-light environments to encounters with flashing emergency vehicle lights.
Other key features include custom police lighting and sirens, 180° battle walls, 360° target turners, level 8 bullet-resistant doors and windows, full-width target runners, eight shooting lanes, a gun cleaning area, and a meeting/conference space.

RATIO recently celebrated the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Indiana Department of Transportation's latest Welcome Center located on I-65 near Demotte, IN. This marks a significant milestone in the state's $600 million initiative to revamp these vital facilities. The Kankakee Welcome Center, the inaugural project of this endeavor, has not only set the standard for upcoming welcome centers but also transformed them into recreational hubs.
Serving as the Landscape Architect, the welcome center boasts a range of amenities, such as a playground, dog park, scenic trails, boardwalk, art installations, expansive prairie restoration areas, and a fishing pond. These centers have evolved into more than just parking spaces; they've become welcoming parks that embrace the local community.
Project partners include the Indiana Department of Transportation, Eric Holcomb, Hasse Construction Company, Inc., FOSSE & ASSOCIATES ARCHITECTS, INC., and Janssen & Spaans Engineering, Inc.
F.A. Wilhelm Construction: Terre Haute Casino Resort
Churchill Downs Incorporated recently opened the Terre Haute Casino Resort in Terre Haute, Indiana. The $290 million investment includes a casino floor with 1,000 slot machines, 36 table games and a state-of-the-art sportsbook. The 400,000-square-foot entertainment venue also features regionally inspired bars and restaurants including: Four Cornered Steakhouse, Rockwood Bar & Grill, The Soda Shoppe, Crossroads Center Bar and High Limit Bar.
The development of Terre Haute Casino Resort generated nearly 1,000 construction jobs and approximately 500 permanent full-time and part-time jobs. CDI officially broke ground on the entertainment venue in June 2022 with construction management partner, Wilhelm Construction.
The groundbreaking ceremony of the Endress+Hauser Group Innovation Center and George E. Booth Co. Headquarters marked the culmination of a rigorous and challenging design process to create this new flagship facility in Greenwood, IN. The Innovation Center, which will serve as the new gateway to the campus, brings together various on-campus Endress+Hauser teams and the George E. Booth staff under one new roof.
Endress+Hauser has had a clear vision from the beginning of the project to offer this new building as a gift to their employees, providing them with a space to promote collaboration and creativity. Towards that goal, the Innovation Center features modern office facilities visually connected to the light industrial functions, a smart classroom, a STEM workforce development maker space, and various collaboration spaces.
The new building will also prioritize clean energy strategies, such as geothermal and a rooftop photovoltaic array, to minimize its embodied carbon and promote Endress+Hauser's mission of leadership in energy transformation.
Indianapolis Public Schools: Broad Ripple Middle School Athletic Facility Improvements
In April, IPS hosted the first of several Rebuilding Stronger groundbreaking ceremonies at Broad Ripple Middle School. Broad Ripple Middle School is one of six IPS schools getting athletic field upgrades - and one of 23 schools that will get facility improvements - from the district’s Rebuilding Stronger plan.
The Rebuilding Stronger upgrades will give IPS middle school students the opportunity to participate in more sports than ever before, helping them gain a more robust middle school experience while preparing them to compete at the high school level.
Schmidt Associates: Westfield Washington Schools Transportation Center
The new Westfield Washington Schools Transportation Center project broke ground in early May. The 42,500 SF geothermal facility will include administrative offices, a simulation lab, and a driver training room that can be divided for flexibility. Additionally, the building will have 10 service bays with advanced fluid distribution systems, a wash bay, and a safety station.
The Hagerman Group, Design Collaborative: Legacy Park at Junior Achievement of Northern Indiana
Construction begins in June on Legacy Park at Junior Achievement of Northern Indiana. The park, designed by Design Collaborative and located adjacent to JA's headquarters in Fort Wayne, IN, will showcase sculptures created by local artists along a 1,200 linear feet paved path. The park also features a 32 foot wide labyrinth made of unique pavers, a pavilion, and a metal word wall. The word wall is dedicated to donors Paul and Dorothy Shaffer, who met as participants in a spelling bee in their youth and therefore have a special connection to words. The pavilion is also named after them.
The Hagerman Group: Fishers Community Center at Johnson Farm
In April, the City of Fishers broke ground on the new Fishers Community Center at Johnson Farm, opening in fall 2025 at Hoosier Road near 121st Street. Special guests included Ms. May's first grade class from Hoosier Road Elementary School, the ambassador class for the new facility, as well as Art Johnson, whose family farmed the land for generations.
The 105,000 square foot recreation center will be a gathering space for residents, bringing the community together through health and wellness with amenities including a large indoor playground, indoor track, dog park, aquatics facility with a 2-story waterslide, and announced today, a café operated by Sahm's Hospitality Group. The center will also be the new home of the Fishers Health Department and Outside The Box’s adult day program to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
