Held at the Science Central building, this year's Egg Drop challenged participants both young and old to design an apparatus which could safely protect an egg when dropped from the top floor. Close to 40 contraptions were tested, leading to both successful landings and spectacular crashes in a thrilling showcase of imagination and scientific thought. Creativity and innovation were on full display as participants vied for coveted chicken-shaped trophies in categories such as Most Creative and Most Scientific.
The excitement didn't end there, though. Some designs were specifically engineered to cause the most dramatic crash, a spirited category that awards the Most Devastating Crash trophy.
While the Egg Drop is a fun highlight of the summer schedule, it also serves a crucial role in keeping children engaged in scientific learning and STEM education during their vacation. Design Collaborative is thrilled to mark this 25-year milestone, and looks forward to continuing the tradition of the Egg Drop for many years to come.
