The conference kicked off with Trimble CEO and President Rob Painter highlighting the theme of the week which was “the Power of Connections”. Painter explained the importance of using Trimble technologies to connect your entire jobsite from start to finish and back to the office when it was complete. Trimble has millions of users all over the world and their technology is currently involved in construction projects totaling $500 billion. Other Trimble team members gave an update on technology improvements and innovations in the last year. One of the big pushes in the last year is the collection of jobsite data and how users can better adapt that data for its proper use now and in the future.
Over the course of the three days, 450 breakout session were held so attendees could learn about Trimble’s technology as it directly effects them. Some of these sessions included customer panels, computer lab classes, or information on sustainability and productivity. These sessions make it easy for attendees to “choose their own adventure” and tailor their conference to their specific needs and interests.
In addition to the breakout sessions, Trimble also sponsored six Spotlight Live Sessions, which included thought leadership panels designed to tackle some of the industry’s biggest challenges. Topics included:
- Exploring the Power of Artificial Intelligence
- Accelerating Business Sustainability
- Deploying Innovation in Your Company
- Solving the Labor Shortage
- How Construction Technology Benefits Society
- How Mental Health Impacts Profitability

Sara Feuling, Senior Director, Construction at the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) hosted the “How Construction Technology Benefits Society” Spotlight Live Session. The session reflected on four emerging technologies (machine and grade control, engines and drive trains, digital control systems, and telematics) and how they are changing the industry now and in the future.
To end the second day of the conference, Trimble sponsored the 9th Annual Construction Startup Competition. The competition started with hundreds of applicants and was narrowed down to eight finalists who took the stage at the conference to pitch their ideas in a Shark Tank-style showcase to a panel of industry experts. All eight companies are involved in building a more sustainable, efficient, and innovative future.
This year's medalists were:
- Gold: Construex
- Silver: Sensmore
- Bronze: Vizcab
Trimble also set up a technology expo to give attendees the chance to meet with new technology companies and Trimble experts in person and get hands-on experience with new equipment.
