“As we look toward the future, the physical size of our existing corporate headquarters limits the amount of services we can offer to our members. The new building will allow us to add the necessary staffing in order to expand our services, such as adding a business lending department and call center staff,” said Steve Collins, President and CEO at Fort Financial.
The 27,000 square foot building is on the southwest corner of Lima and Wallen Roads. It will consist of two stories and a basement, which will be dedicated to technology and innovation projects at the credit union.
A full-service branch location will be attached to the corporate headquarters and will feature an exterior ATM and two drive-up lanes.“As we looked at where our membership growth has occurred and where we lacked a physical presence, we knew that finding a location on the northwest part of Fort Wayne would allow us to better serve our members and give us more visibility in the city,” said Collins.
Exterior LED lights will wrap around the building to highlight the credit union’s brand. An interior display board in the branch lobby will feature the organization’s brand, products and promotions. The display board was custom designed by CSD. Rooftop solar panels will be used to assist in providing electricity to the building.

Two electric vehicle charging stations will be accessible to the public in the new building’s parking lot.
The building was designed by Design Collaborative. Hagerman Construction will serve as the general contractor of the project, which is estimated to cost $9 million.
Fort Financial expects to move into the new headquarters in July 2022.
Founded in 1946, Fort Financial Credit Union is headquartered in Fort Wayne, Ind. It operates 10 branches in Indiana, Mississippi and North Carolina, including three Fort Wayne Meijer in-store branches that are open to serve members seven days a week.
