ISA President Provides Update on Association Events in 2021

The following is a letter authored by 2021 Indiana Subcontractors Association President David Peterson to ISA members regarding plans for ISA events in 2021:

'We are 46 days into 2021 and a little over a year before our first COVID-19 case in the USA. 2020 provided us challenges and new ways to connect with one another. Thank you to all of our members who joined us virtually over the past 13 months!

While 2021 is not clear of the global pandemic, it is providing us opportunities to begin meeting safely. As we near the February 15th deadline for our 2021 membership renewals, we hope you stick with us in 2021. ISA has a multitude of events planned for 2021. Our first in-person event will take place at TopGolf on March 18th at 2:30 PM. It is with excitement I inform our members this event is sold out! ISA will ensure each of our members is safe by following our ISA COVID-19 Event Protocol. We are looking forward to connecting with each of you in-person on March 18th.

ISA will continue to provide in-person events as long as CDC guidelines, and state/county regulations allow. We have a full line-up of events for 2021, and I would like to encourage you to check out our 2021 event calendar linked below. We cannot guarantee these events will not be postponed or moved to a virtual setting, however, we are hopeful 2021 will provide our members with in-person networking opportunities, which I know is of utmost importance to our members. If we are in a situation where we must move to a virtual setting, I encourage you to join us. We have listened to your feedback, and believe we have value in our virtual networking opportunities.

Our Construction Networking Event of the Year (CNEY) has been moved once more to October 4, 2021, at the JW Marriott. The Board of Directors and Special Events Committee made this decision with each of our members in mind. The ISA Tradeshow is a member favorite. The success of the event is due to the exceptional networking opportunity our members receive with over 1000 attendees and 130 exhibitors. It is important to the ISA Leadership that we maintain the same feel for our 2021 Construction Networking Event of the Year. More details to come.

Additionally, the ISA Leadership has made the decision to not host the GC of the Year Awards in 2021. We know our GC's, and subcontractors look forward to the award luncheon each year. The award luncheon is an opportunity to showcase our best in the industry and we are looking at alternatives to still continue this tradition at the 2021 CNEY. The ISA Leadership believes each award recipient should be granted the full year to showcase their accolade. We did not want to diminish the integrity of the ISA awards, by only allowing the 2021 award recipients to display their trophies for 3 months. We will host the GC of the Year Awards in 2022.

Thank you to all of our members for continuous support. ISA is a place to gather and forge meaningful relationships, and I can speak for the ISA Leadership and membership by saying, we have all missed one another and look forward to seeing each other soon!'
