Prior to joining Hanson, Stranahan was the civil engineer for the city of Kokomo and performed other duties in the engineering department for 20 years. He was a combat engineer for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve for six years; he worked on construction projects in the United States, Korea, El Salvador and Jamaica and received a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
Stranahan earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Purdue University and is a licensed professional engineer in Indiana. In 2015, he received the Ivan H. Brinegar Municipal Management Award from the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns.
