RIALTO, CA — PCL Construction Inc. and the West Valley Water District (WVWD) celebrated the completion of the Oliver P. Roemer Water Filtration Facility Expansion and Upgrade Project with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking a significant investment in regional water infrastructure and long-term water reliability.
More than 100 federal, state, and local elected officials, water industry leaders, and project partners gathered for the milestone celebration. The expanded facility will strengthen operational flexibility and water supply reliability for approximately 100,000 customers and support regional groundwater sustainability efforts by increasing treatment capacity from 14.4 million gallons per day (MGD) to 21.6 MGD.
“Through a collaborative design-build approach, the team modernized critical infrastructure while maintaining ongoing operations and uninterrupted service, prioritizing the needs of the communities throughout San Bernardino County that depend on this facility every day,” said Alejandro Juarez, Project Manager at PCL Construction.
“This celebration is the culmination of dedicated teamwork, strong partnerships, thoughtful planning, and responsible investment,” WVWD President Kelvin Moore said. “By expanding Roemer’s treatment capacity, we are improving the reliability and resilience of our water system to make the best use of our available water supplies.”
