SAN DIEGO, CA — Sundt Construction has been selected by the San Diego Community College District (SDCCD) to deliver the Saville Performing Arts Center Replacement project at San Diego City College as part of the Measure HH Bond Program. Approved in November 2024, the $3.5 billion Measure HH will provide educational facilities, address long-deferred maintenance needs, and ensure SDCCD’s colleges remain accessible, equitable, and innovative for decades to come.
The project will replace the existing Saville Theatre with a new, approximately 28,000-square-foot performing arts facility designed to support both academic programs and community use. The new center will feature modern, flexible spaces capable of accommodating a wide range of performances and events.
Scope of work includes demolition of the existing structure, hazardous materials abatement, utility relocation and upgrades, and site improvements, new walkways, and ADA-compliant paths of travel.
“We are honored to continue our partnership with the San Diego Community College District on this important project,” said Ryan Nessen, Senior Vice President and California District Manager. “This selection reflects the trust we have built over more than two decades and our commitment to delivering high-quality facilities that serve students and the broader community.”
Sundt was selected based on its past performance and long-standing relationship with SDCCD, which spans more than 20 years and includes four completed projects across two local campuses.
