In this newly created role, she will work with leadership to support the office’s growing Science & Technology practice planning laboratories and research facilities for higher education, corporate, government, and health care clients throughout northern California.
“The Bay Area is at the center of science & technology research and development, representing some of the most innovative public and private organizations globally,” Thayer said. “I’m excited to join HGA’s interdisciplinary team focused on designing highly technical research facilities that enable clients to achieve their goals.”
She has 20 years of experience, with in-depth knowledge of building systems, codes, accessibility requirements, and emerging technologies for a range of research labs and project types. Before joining HGA, she served as a Senior Architect with several leading architecture firms nationwide.
Thayer has a Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the University of Minnesota.
