LIVERMORE, CA — Topcon Positioning Systems President and Chief Executive Officer, Ray O’Connor, has been elected to the 2022 Board of Directors of the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM). O’Connor has also been elected to the Construction Equipment (CE) Sector Board, where he previously served from 2014 through 2018.

“It is an honor to serve on the AEM Board of Directors, as well as the CE Sector Board,” O’Connor said. “The agricultural and construction equipment industries are currently facing both unprecedented challenges and extraordinary opportunities, so AEM’s advocacy efforts have become more important than ever. I look forward to working with the excellent group of colleagues assembled for 2022 on the strategic initiatives of this important organization.”

O’Connor is President and CEO of Topcon Positioning Systems, Inc., a position he has held since 2002. He is also President of the Positioning Operating Company, one of three companies that form Topcon Corporation, where he serves as Senior Managing Executive Officer.

Additionally, he has served as Chairman of Topcon Europe Positioning Business since 2005. He is a Director of Topcon America Corporation and Topcon Europe BV.

From its headquarters in Livermore, California, Topcon Positioning Systems manages more than 30 operations located in 15 countries on five continents, with a workforce of more than 2,000 people engaged in the design, manufacturing, and distribution of precision measurement and workflow solutions for the global construction, geospatial, and agriculture markets.

O’Connor, who has been with Topcon since 1993, has received multiple business and academic honors as a result of his leadership in the positioning and geospatial industries.
