CHICAGO, IL — Turner Construction Company celebrated the topping out of a $55 million, eight-story parking garage for the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), marking the completion of vertical construction on the project.
Designed by Gensler and WGI, the approximately 1,000-car garage will enhance campus accessibility and support UIC’s growing student, faculty, and visitor population. The milestone was commemorated with a lunch and celebration of the collaborative efforts of the project team and workforce.
“This topping out represents the strength of our partnership with UIC and the dedication of the entire project team,” said Erin Cullen, Project Executive, Turner Construction Company. “We’re proud to deliver a critical piece of campus infrastructure that will serve the university community for years to come.”
Construction is ongoing, with completion anticipated in summer 2026.
