DALLAS, TX — Nolan Rome has been promoted to Central Region Development Director at WSP USA, an engineering, environment, and professional services consultancy.

In his new role, Rome will work with regional, district, and national business line (NBL) leaders to identify new business opportunities and expanded, multidisciplinary service offerings for WSP clients across all business lines in the 16-state Central Region.

“Nolan is results-driven and a proven team builder,” said Rebecca Nolan, Central Region President for WSP. “Partnering with our leadership, he will work to develop and implement the Central Region’s growth strategy and focus on efforts that deliver Future Ready solutions to our clients from the Gulf Coast, across the Great Plains, to the Great Lakes.”

Client engagement and strategically positioning WSP’s teams to suit programmatic and project needs will be the core of Rome’s focus by growing relationships with clients, industry partners and community stakeholders to ensure that the firm’s approach will meet client objectives from strategy to solutions design and implementation. He will serve an advisor to unite client efforts to align with sustainability goals and other priorities they may have.

“In his new position, Nolan will drive collaboration with leadership to position the Central Region for continued success,” said David McAlister, WSP USA Chief Development Officer. “In an effort to bring the best of WSP to our clients across the region, he will provide strategy and sales leadership across all sectors in support of strategic priorities while expanding our client care program.”

Rome has more than 20 years of experience helping establish WSP’s reputation in health care and leading some of the firm’s highest profile health and hospital projects. As a member of the Property and Buildings leadership team since 2017, Rome has championed efforts to develop and broaden service offerings, and his work has driven growth outside of the core services and provided innovation to clients by leveraging WSP’s national business lines and technical expertise across multiple market sectors.

Rome is a graduate of the University of Texas in Austin with a bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering. He is also a licensed Professional Engineer in Texas, Arizona, California, and New Mexico, and a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional.

The Central Region covers Texas, Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. WSP’s recent work in the region spans all sectors, including the Dingell Drive Tunnels Rehabilitation at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization Resiliency Study, engineering oversight for resilient infrastructure project under the Texas General Land Office, K-96 Corridor, Mid-America Airport MetroLink extension, Noblesville Innovation Mile, and Hertz Electric Vehicle charger design and permitting support.
