“It is an honor to receive this award from ARTBA’s Industry Leader Development Program, an organization that has played a central role in shaping my career path,” Sosa said. “Receiving this award made me take a step back and reflect on my career. I truly appreciate the valuable and applicable skills I learned in legislative advocacy and stakeholder engagement from the Industry Leader Development Program and how those skills helped me become the professional I am today.”
The Leadership Impact Awards were launched to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Industry Leader Development Program, a nationwide program created by the ARTBA Foundation to provide guidance on federal and state advocacy tactics for the transportation market. Sosa is a 2007 graduate of the program.
“Albert is a visionary leader who understands the value of establishing trusted relationships with key stakeholder groups — whether it be a client, an elected official, or a fellow industry peer,” said Tom O’Grady, PE, HNTB President. “He successfully engages with elected officials at the local, state, and national level to advocate for infrastructure funding and transportation-related regulatory issues.”
Sosa has been with HNTB for 15 years and oversees 175 employees in the company’s Chicago office. Upon joining HNTB, Sosa founded its south Florida construction services practice and grew it to over $10 million in annual revenue in four years. He has 25 years of experience in business development, transportation program management, and construction services, specializing in roadway, bridge, toll, and transit system planning. In addition, Sosa served on Miami Dade County School Board’s STEM Industry Advisory Board since 2015, when the Advisory Board raised over $150,000 to support numerous STEM programs.
