The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) will oversee the 17 projects, which will maintain and enhance transportation infrastructure of the state.
“These projects will make our highways safer and make Mississippi a better place to live and work,” said Melinda McGrath, PE. “All of our projects, whether pavement overlays or bridge replacements, help ensure the businesses and people of Mississippi have efficient and reliable infrastructure for travel and transport of goods and services.”
“These projects will help MDOT continue to provide safe and reliable transportation to Mississippi’s traveling public," said Commissioner Tom King, Chair of the Mississippi Transportation Commission. "A robust transportation network is vital for economic development.”
The awarded contracts for the Southern Transportation District were:
- A $2.7-million contract was awarded to Warren Paving, Inc. for a five-mile overlay on U.S. Highway 49 from near the Stone County line to near Ten Mile Creek in Stone County.
- A $2.4-million contract was awarded to W.E. Blain & Sons, Inc. for a five-mile overlay project on U.S. Highway 61 near State Route 563 in Wilkinson County.
- A $2.5-million contract was awarded to Dunn Roadbuilders, LLC for a 12-mile paving project on State Route 15 beginning at State Route 198 and going north in Perry County.
- A $4.4-million contract was awarded to Dickerson & Bowen, Inc. for an 11-mile mill and overlay project on Interstate 55 from U.S. Highway 84 to the Copiah County line in Lincoln County.
- A $280,000-contract was awarded to J.E. Borries, Inc. for a bridge repair project on Interstate 110 in Harrison County.
- A $14.2-million contract was awarded to Warren Paving for a 12-mile mill and overlay project on I-59 from the Pearl River County line to Black Creek in Lamar County.

The awarded contracts for the Central Transportation District were:
- A $5.5-million contract was awarded to APAC-Mississippi, Inc. for an eight-mile mill and overlay project on U.S. Highway 45 from the Lauderdale County line to State Route 498 in Kemper County.
- An $11.7-million contract was awarded Joe McGee Construction Company, Inc. for a bridge replacement project consisting of five sites on State Route 19 in Neshoba County.
- A $2.5-million contract was awarded to Walters Construction Company, Inc. for safety improvements at the intersection of State Route 25 and River Bend Road in Scott County.
- A $14.6-million contract was awarded to APAC-Mississippi for an 11-mile mill and overlay project on Interstate 59 from Russell to the state line in Lauderdale County.
- A $1.5-million contract was awarded to Olympus Painting Contractors, Inc. for a bridge repair project on U.S. 51 at the Big Black River in Madison County.
- A $2-million contract was awarded to JEM Contracting, LLC for construction of an MDOT maintenance facility in Holmes County.
The awarded contracts for the Northern Transportation District were:
- A $2.4-million contract was awarded to Southern Road & Bridge, LLC for a bridge preservation project on U.S. Highway 45 in Alcorn County.
- A $5.7-million contract was awarded to APAC-Mississippi for a five-mile mill and overlay project on Interstate 22 from State Route 178 and U.S. 45 in Lee County. The project also includes bridge preservation at four sites.
- A $7.7-million contract was awarded to Lehman-Roberts Company, Inc. for a 20-mile mill and overlay project on U.S. Highway 278 in Coahoma and Quitman counties.
- A $4.6-million contract was awarded to Double T Construction, LLC for an eight-mile mill and overlay project on State Route 302 beginning at from State Route 309 to U.S. Highway 72 in Marshall County.
- A $10.8-million contract was awarded to Lehman-Roberts for a nearly 16-mile mill and overlay project along U.S. 278 from the Panola County line to Busbyville in Lafayette County.
MDOT will release additional information regarding timelines and impacts to traffic prior to the start of construction.
