BIRMINGHAM, AL — Marathon Electrical Contractors, headquartered in Irondale, Alabama, has been recognized as one of the nation’s top construction safety performers, earning a first-place award in the 2025 Construction Safety Excellence Awards (CSEA) presented by the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC).
The annual awards program honors construction firms that demonstrate a commitment to safety and health management, risk control, and continuous improvement. Marathon Electrical Contractors was selected as a first-place winner in the specialty division for companies logging between 2.2 million and 4 million work hours. The company was one of 22 first-place winners and among 63 total companies nationwide recognized for their outstanding safety programs.
“These awards spotlight the companies that are not just improving safety; they are defining what excellence looks like for the entire construction industry,” said Trey Pebley, National Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer of Foremost Paving Inc. “Their leadership sets the pace for others to follow.”
Winners of the CSEA are selected by a panel of five independent safety and health professionals within the construction industry. Final judging took place during AGC’s annual convention in Orlando, Florida. Industry partners also emphasized the importance of safety leadership across the construction sector.
Leaders at Alabama Associated General Contractors (Alabama AGC) applauded Marathon Electrical Contractors for setting a strong example across the state and industry.
