PALMETTO, FL — Construction firm Robins & Morton joined BayCare Health System to celebrate the topping out of the $563 million BayCare Hospital Manatee in Palmetto, Florida. The new 450,000-square-foot hospital, located 1 mile north of the I-75 and I-275 junction in Manatee County, will include 154 beds in private patient rooms, expanding access to health care for the growing community.
“As Manatee County’s only not-for-profit hospital reaches full height, it represents an important step toward expanding access to the high-quality, compassionate care BayCare is known for across West Central Florida,” BayCare President and CEO Stephanie Conners said.
The hospital is expected to open in 2028.
“Reaching the topping out of BayCare Hospital Manatee is a proud milestone for our entire team and trade partners, and a reflection of the strong collaboration driving this project forward,” Robins & Morton Operations Manager Bryan Durkin said. “This moment represents more than structural progress; it’s a significant step toward delivering a high-quality health care destination that will serve the Manatee County and surrounding South Tampa Bay community for generations to come.”
Robins & Morton is the general contractor for the project. Gresham Smith is the architect.
