ORLANDO, FL — Skanska announces that construction of the Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute, a medical facility in Orlando, Florida, has earned the company a national Excellence in Construction (EIC) Eagle Award, which was presented during the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Convention 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The EIC Awards recognized 96 of the nation’s top construction projects from 2024, honoring the most outstanding construction projects, such as upgrades and renovations to hospitals and constructing hydraulic stations, sports complexes, government buildings, and airports.

The Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute, Florida's first dedicated orthopedic hospital, combines Central Florida's top orthopedic and sports medicine practices. Spanning 375,000 square feet, the health care complex was completed in two phases. Phase one delivered a six-story medical pavilion with 12 operating rooms, advanced imaging technology, a 62-exam room clinic, and physical therapy facilities. Phase two added a seven-story orthopedic hospital with 10 more operating rooms, 75 smart inpatient rooms, and a bioskills lab. The facility aims to provide comprehensive orthopedic care, from routine treatments to complex surgeries, all under one roof.

A panel of industry experts served as the competition’s judges. This year’s judges included representatives from Dick’s Sporting Goods, the Design-Build Institute of America, Construction Owners Association of America, the National Institutes of Health, the National Institute of Building Sciences, the Smithsonian Institution, and other select construction-related organizations nationwide.
