John T. Whitman, Vice President of Operations for Mobile Asphalt Co. LLC was installed as the 2023 President of the Mobile Section of AlabamaAGC. Whitman succeeds Josh McElhenney with McElhenney Construction Co., LLC, who will continue to serve as immediate past President.
Whitman recently began his 28th year with Mobile Asphalt Co. and is current Chairman of R. J. Billingsley, Inc. He is a graduate of UMS-Wright Preparatory School (Class of ’91) and the University of Alabama (Class of ’95 - business management). He is a past President of the Alabama Roadbuilders Association, a past President of the Mobile County Road Builders Association, and is the current President of the Baldwin County Road Builders Association.
Originally chartered in 1920, AlabamaAGC is part of a statewide and national association whose membership includes general contractors, subcontractors, specialty contractors, material and equipment suppliers, insurance bonding, financial institutions, engineering firms, law firms, and others.
