MGIA Hosts Michigan Snow Conference & Expo
“The show was a great place to discover new products, get the latest ideas for plowing and de-icing, attend classes and network with industry professionals,” said Tiffany Andrews, Director of Events.
Back again this year, was the “try before you buy,” equipment demo area. Many exhibitors participated by allowing attendees to demo equipment, such as skid loaders, utility work machines and more.
There was also a full day of educational offerings for both contractors and municipalities. Speaker Joe Kujawa, President of Strategic Advisor, presented, “Managing Profitability.” Also offered was a snow operations management panel consisting of Jim Schill, Schill Grounds Management of Ohio; Matt Scott, Troy Clogg Landscape Associates; and Brent Teddy, Teddy’s Lawn & Landscape, all of whom shared their strategies and successes in snow ops management.
A couple of the classes geared toward municipalities were, “Sustainable Salt Solutions in Winter Maintenance - The Balancing Act” and “Winter Weather Forecasting and Equipment Maintenance & Operation.” Many attendees also took advantage of the CDL Training on the show floor.
All in attendance were treated to a complimentary buffet lunch, sponsored by The Boss Snowplow and Mid-Michigan Snow Equipment.
At the culmination of the show, many participated in the Snow Plow Rodeo, sponsored by LaFontaine Ford of Lansing and STE, Inc. The first-place winner was Tristan Westphal of Livingston Landscape and the second-place winner was Avery Munoz of Great Outdoors. Prizes were awarded for the first- and second-place winners.
MGIA would like to thank all of the attendees, sponsors and exhibitors for their support of this year’s event.
