LANSING, MI — The American Council of Engineering Companies of Michigan (ACEC/Michigan) announces Barbara Arens, PE, from Cincar Consulting Group (C2G), as its 2025-2026 President.
Arens is a Managing Principal for Cincar Consulting Group, with over 39 years of industry experience. Arens became a Managing Principal and part owner at C2G in July 2020, where she leads the Michigan office. Prior to joining C2G, she was a Senior Vice President of a global engineering firm for 26 years and held a variety of state, regional, and national positions in business management, operations, and national Project Delivery.
Arens has been active in numerous organizations, having served on ACEC/Michigan’s board of directors the past five years, before becoming the 2025-2026 President. She has served in leadership positions for WTS for over the past 20 years and as an appointed member of the Mackinac Bridge Authority.
She believes in advocacy and education to foster a collaborative environment with member firms and industry partners to secure sustainable and reliable infrastructure funding for the state, along with Ron Brenke (ACEC/Michigan Executive Director) and the rest of ACEC/Michigan.
Arens is a graduate of Michigan State University for both her bachelor's and master's degree in civil engineering (transportation concentration).
