KALAMAZOO, MI — Miller Davis announces that it has received the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) 2024 National Safety Award, marking the 15th consecutive year the company has earned this recognition.
Miller Davis was one of only 23 companies in Michigan to be recognized in the top safety tier, a distinction awarded to firms with over 50,000 work hours and zero recordable incidents in the past year.
“Achieving this honor consecutively for over a decade reflects the dedication and teamwork that our team brings each day,” said Dan Coffman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Miller Davis. “It’s not just about meeting standards; it’s about setting them.”
In 2024, Miller Davis conducted over 250 safety trainings, including more than 100 site-specific safety orientations and 85 sessions for staff and subcontractors. A major highlight was the launch of the company’s inaugural Safety Summit — a half-day event focused on safety, mental health, and industry regulations. The summit fostered open dialogue and practical learning for trade professionals.
Miller Davis also reinforces safety through bi-monthly full-staff meetings, where the entire team gathers to troubleshoot site challenges, discuss toolbox talks, and align on best practices. Quarterly computer-based training modules cover key topics, including diversity, hazardous materials, and trenching safety, ensuring that both office and field staff continuously refresh their knowledge on essential safety subjects. In 2025, the company has already implemented dozens of site-specific orientations, a company-wide training survey, MIOSHA CET sessions, Alliance Walks, CPR/AED certifications, and more.
