“I am grateful for the opportunity to join Barton Malow, as the mission critical industry is entering a strong period of growth that requires talented people, integrity, partnership, and empowerment — all of which Barton Malow is poised to be a significant player in. I look forward to helping the company scale,” Nickel said. “Barton Malow already maintains a great level of transparency in its operations and has a strong core purpose of people, projects, and communities — all key attributes for success in mission critical.”
Prior to joining Barton Malow, Nickel served in an executive leadership position at Suffolk Construction. He spent his last two years there as a Vice President and Executive Director of Mission Critical, where he was tasked with growing and diversifying Suffolk’s presence in the emerging building market. With over 20 years of experience building teams and a successful history of developing new market segments, Nickel's expertise will open up additional construction opportunities for Barton Malow.
“We’re excited to leverage Joel’s broad background and track record of building relationships and improving efficiencies to create successful results for clients and partners. Joel’s diverse experience is an asset to Barton Malow’s goal for a sustainable future in mission critical and data center work,” said Todd Ketola, Barton Malow Builders Chief Operating Officer.
Nickel is based out of Barton Malow’s Southfield, Michigan, headquarters but supports Barton Malow’s national footprint.
